James Knowles, a/k/a Captain Dirty James was a sailor and a great musician, singer and songwriter. We traveled from Key West to Carolina's with Dirty James and The Rusty Anchors Sea Shanty Band. Although several band members changed over the years, it was the Captain that held it all together.
He left us for Fiddler's Green a couple of years ago.
 
We have compiled, with the help and permissions of his life partner, Brenda Knowles, a 17 song compilation CD which includes recordings of The Anchors and 6 original songs written by James.
